Meet Taylor (and Addison too)!

Meet Taylor! She is my real-life sorority sister who has the cutest goldendoodle named Addison. One day Lacy and Add will meet, one day! She's guest blogging for me while I'm away at Blissdom, and I'm so honored to have her blog for me while I'm absent! So give a warm welcome to Taylor from Life With Addison!

----

My name is Taylor and I blog. More specifically, I blog about my dog, Addison. She's a two year old goldendoodle who is full of personality. I end up writing about her whether I intend to or not. Addison weaves her way into almost every blog post almost as effortlessly as she worked her way into our hearts.  I was never a pet person growing up. I always enjoyed having dogs around, but I had better things to do than actually spend tons of time with them. Then Addison came along, and my husband and I have fallen head over heels in love with her (more so me than him, but he's pretty crazy about her too!). I've never been asked to guest blog before today, and I was initially panicked as to what I could write about in this post. After talking to Faison, she suggested that I share Addie's favorite things. Pre-Addison, I loved shopping (and finding bargains!), so I've now channeled some of that energy into finding the best pet products for Addison. I've done the research, trial/error, and weeded out the good from the very bad, all while trying to get the best deal for my money. Without further ado, here are some of Addison's favorite pet products:

1. Gulpy
Gulpy found here

A must if you travel anywhere, even just to the park, with your pet. It's a water bottle/water bowl combo for your dog. If used correctly, it does not leak so it can be stored in your purse. Addison has quite a few of these (I've even been able to find them at my local TJ Maxx for under $4!).

2. Martingale collars!
Whoever came up with these collars is my hero! I may be the only pet owner out there with this problem, but Addison can slip out of conventional collars (what can I say, her neck is fatter than her head...girl's got problems).

A brief overview on the martingale collar from bigdogboutique.com:
"A martingale collar is made with two loops of material. The large loop is placed around the dogs neck and adjusted to fit loosely. The leash is then clipped to the D ring on the small loop. When the dog tries to pull their head out of the collar, the tension on the leash pulls the small loop taunt, which makes the large loop smaller and tighter on the neck-- preventing escape. When adjusted properly the dog is never choked, but the collar stays snug around the dog's neck (just behind the ears) until the pressure is released. The problem with standard buckle collars is that for the collar to be tight enough that it can't slip over the ears when pulled forward by a dog backing up, it must be uncomfortably tight all the time. The martingale collar allows the dog to wear a comfortably loose collar that is only tight when it needs to be tight. Almost all breeds can benefit from a martingale collar."

3. BarkBox
Have you heard about BarkBox? It's sort of like Birchbox, but for dogs. You can read my in-depth thoughts here and my review of the February box here. It's a monthly subscription that provides at least 4 goodies for your dog and gives a portion of each box sold to help dogs in need. If you have a dog and find that you are constantly buying different toys and treats each month for your dog, then this is the subscription for you!

My Addison happens to be lactose intolerant...and highly allergic to most dairy. Enter Bocce's Bakery. Bocce's makes all natural, organic dog biscuits...a few of them do not contain dairy and they are Addison's newest treat obsession (more specifically the Elvis and Big Apple Pie biscuits).

Is your dog a "chewer"? Addison is (don't even get me started on what teething was like for her). Moose antlers are her favorite. To quote the Acadia Antlers website "Acadia Antlers are a great alternative to rawhide and other messy dog treats -- they are non-splintering and an all natural source of calcium and minerals with trace amounts of iron, zinc, and sodium. The antlers are naturally shed from Maine Moose. No animal was harmed in the making of these chews!  The chews are long lasting with no mess and no odor."

I hope that this review helps any other pet owners out there. I hope that I didn't bore you too much! Big thanks to Faison for letting me share some of Addie's favorite things!
Best,
Taylor
