Tag! + sometimes and always
It's a 2-in-1 post today! Sometimes and Always is making its debut on the blog, but first I'm excited to announce that I've been tagged in this fun blog game by one of my favorite bloggers, Jackie from Carolina Queen! Her blog is very entertaining, so go check it out!
Rules of the game1. You must post the rules.2. Post eleven fun facts about yourself.3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, then create eleven new people to ask the people you've tagged.4. Tag eleven people and link them on your post.5. Let them know you've tagged them!
Eleven facts about Faison1. I secretly like watching Hoarders, and it puts me in an instant cleaning mood. 2. You can ask any of my friends and they'll tell you that I have a serious obsession with cardigans. I'll wear one even in the summer time! I just don't like my arms.3. Call me weird: I love dance music. In my defense, those fast-beats are perfect for a high-energy workout at the gym!4. If I could be anywhere in the world tomorrow, I'd be back in Paris. I lived there in the Spring of '10, and I would go back in a heart beat! Oui oui!
5. Sixteen pairs of kate spade shoes call my closet their home. I love the spade that much. 6. I swore off PC's for life on in December of 2007 when I got my first MacBook for Christmas that year. I am a self-proclaimed Mac geek!7. I carry my Nikon D-SLR with me everywhere, and sometimes I'm awkward and will take pictures of everything. My girls' weekend in New York a few days ago is a perfect example! Camera nerd + Mac geek = Faison!8. My car is nicknamed BEOWULF, but not because of the book. My dad called my old Land Rover that name because its old standard-issue plate read "bate-oh-gwuf" when pronounced, and thus the name BEOWULF came to be! When I got a new Land Rover the nickname carried on, and now it has a custom-made British tag on the front!
9. I don't normally drink sodas or sweet tea. Only once in a blue moon do I ever drink a soda! When I started the weight-loss kick, I ended my loving relationship with sweet tea and diet coke. Although it was difficult at first, I now feel much healthier and my skin is nice and clear too! My drinks of choice now are water, un-sweet tea, and juice-- that's it!10. I only have a handful of black clothing items in my closet. I know black is a slimming color, but I think that navy blue looks better on me. My go-to colors are navy blue, gray, and white-- they're easy to spice up with a colorful scarf and fun accessories!11. I can't cook to save my life! Peter is the one that cooks meals, and I'm the one that cleans the dishes. I am one heck of a baker though! I am a little proud of my homemade icing.
Questions1. Are you a PC or a Mac? I absolutely love Apple products! I have an iMac, a MacBook, an iPhone, an iPad, and an iPod. That's pretty obsessive, right? Peter was a total PC guy, and built his own PC a few years ago, but two years ago he finally made the switch to Apple. He has an iPhone and a MacBook Air.2. If you are at a bar, what drink do you usually order? It depends on my mood. Sometimes I'll order a vodka-Sprite (my one exception to the soda-rule!), or a scotch (Macallan 12), or even a Hendricks + tonic. 3. What color is on your nails right now? I have Cajun Shrimp from OPI on my toes right now. I can't pull off any of the dark colors! 4. What are your top three beauty products? At the top of the list is the YSL touche éclat highlighter pen. This thing hides everything from dark under-eyes, to blemishes, to discoloration! I call this pen my magic wand. Next, I love the NAKED Palette by Urban Decay. I actually had a fellow blogger, Kelly from Kelly's Makeup Bag, recommend it so I bought it! I love all of the colors because it is perfect for day/night makeup, and the colors don't "slide" off the eyelid within three hours like other eyeshadows. Did I mention the eyeshadow colors are gorgeous too?! My final top-three product is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. Oh my gosh, this stick makes my lips so soft, and keeps them moisturized! I used the Sugar balm while I was in New York this weekend, and it saved my lips from drying out in the cold weather. I highly recommend the Sugar treatments!5. What do you normally eat for lunch? Since I'm on Nutrisystem right now, I just grab one of the meals from my pantry and eat that! Sometimes I do wish I could be a little bit more daring when it comes to lunch...6. Heels or flats? Both! I have a good mix of heels and flats in my closet. I tend to wear flats in the daytime, and heels when going out at night.7. Are you a coffee drinker? If so, what is your favorite? I love coffee, but I can't drink it every day. Since I'm on Nutrisystem and trying to lose this weight I've had to scale back and not drink my favorite calorie-loaded latte, the caramel macchiato, so I've been drinking plain drip with skim milk and Splenda. 8. Is there a fashion trend you wish you could pull off? What is it? I wish I could wear those cute ankle boots, but they make my ankles look huge and ugly.9. What is the first thing you notice about people? This sounds so bad, but I notice a person's appearance first. While I was walking through the airport yesterday I saw several people boarding planes in their flannel pajamas, and I could only shake my head. While working for Air France, I got to know the "in's" about seat upgrades on flights, and I can tell you that people who dress in their pajamas are the last to ever get a seat upgrade on a flight. That's why I always try to look put-together wherever I go, especially the airport in case I do get that seat upgrade (which I have gotten before!). 10. Why were you given your name? (is it a family name?) My name is pronounced [fay-sun], or [fay-zen], or [fay-sin]. You get the idea! It's a family name that comes from my mother's side in North Carolina. Any of my NC bloggers know of Faison, NC? That's where the family is from originally! I'm the first girl in the whole entire family to use it, so I feel pretty special. The one drawback is that I have some issues with Starbucks drink orders...
11. Why did you start blogging? I started blogging because I wanted to hold myself accountable to lose this weight in July of 2010. The blog blossomed, and I started writing more and more about my life instead of just food and weight loss stuff. It's been such a blast, and I have loved gaining blogging friends and even meeting them! This is a picture of Stephanie from Blonde Highlights (one of my favorite blogs ever!) and I after eating at Café du Monde in New Orleans in December.
About Fais questions (the ones that you answer!)1. Tea or coffee? 2. What is your favorite place in the world?3. What did you major in college, or majoring in now?4. If you have your ears pierced, do you prefer studs or dangle earrings?5. What jewelry do you wear daily?6. It's Friday night, and you have two choices: stay in and watch a movie or go out on the town. What would you choose?7. If you have a day planner or organizer, which one do you have? 8. When you travel, which do you prefer: Traveling by car, train, or plane? 9. What is your go-to comfort food?10. What was your favorite Christmas/holiday gift that you received this year?11. Why did you start blogging?

... And now I'm linking up with Megan from Mackey Madness to share my sometimes and always! Be sure to check out her blog, because it's such a wonderful read!
Sometimes... I stray away from Nutrisystem and eat something that isn't so great for me.Always... I feel bad after eating said bad food, and kick myself over cheating Nutrisystem.
Sometimes... I don't like talking on the phone.Always... If I don't recognize the number, they end up talking to my voicemail.
Sometimes... I get nervous and stressed when I think about the future and about the absence of plans in our soon-to-be married lives together like where we will end up living, jobs, etc.Always... I remember that He has a plan for us, and that things will work out.
Sometimes... I get jealous of skinny people.Always... I remind myself that I'm losing my weight and working my way back down to my "happy size".
Another post about the wonderful New York weekend is all set for tomorrow, so stay tuned!Have a great Tuesday!

I haaate talking on the phone! I avoid it as much as possible!
Thanks for tagging me! I can't wait to do this! and I'm totally addicted to hoarders too - it inspired me to deep clean my room back home!
Thanks for the tag, girlfriend! I'll blog about this soon!
Loved learning more about you and remain impressed to your commitment to being healthy! I'm totally with you about looking "nice" in the airport. I traveled every 4 to 7 days for a full year for a consulting job and was constantly amazed at what people wore on flights!!! Not saying I'm the most beautiful person on board, but at least I'm wearing a bra, not wearing pjs and have real (non-slipper) shoes. :) PLUS, you never know what adventure awaits when you land, so why be unprepared for fun? And secretly, I always hope to run into a celebrity and you better believe I want to look good in our picture together. Wait, maybe I SHOULD fly in pjs to confirm my meeting of someone famous because that's how my luck always happens. :) Happy Wednesday!
I watch hoarders and clean too!
sixteen pairs of kate spade? I'm very jealous! Thanks for your sweet comment today! xo
I love your facts!! I have recently given up diet coke, too. It's actually been way easier than I thought it would be!!
I definitely hate talking on the phone, too. I always prefer a text! Haha!!
Thanks for linking up with me!!
I'm with ya on the MAC, I'm a new fanatic and loving apple which resides in a cute little Kate Spade sleeve ;) I'm jealous of your 16 pairs of Kate Spade shoes though and can't imagine what your cute closet must look like!
